Significant findings include that physical exercise could substantially enhance the adolescents’ social and emotional skills across all domains, with comparatively stronger effects on emotion regulation and engaging with others; that strengthening physical exercise is of particularly vital significant for socioeconomically disadvantaged adolescents; and that the positive effects of physical exercise on social and emotional skills increased with age in the teenagers; and that gender was an insignificant factor in the relationships between physical exercise and social and emotional skills.
2026-01-27T00:00:00+00:00Copyright (c) 2026 Best Evidence in Chinese Educationhttps://bonoi.org/index.php/bece/article/view/1696The Impact of the Household Educational Burden on Family Well-being2026-01-20T16:03:25+00:00Qian Wang[email protected]
Amid intensifying social competition, household human capital investment has gradually become a heavy burden for the families, which instigates widespread educational anxiety. Educational involution not only hinders the overall improvement of educational quality but is also detrimental to students' physical and mental health. The household educational burden is a pronounced issue in the implementation of the Double Reduction policy. Based on data from the China Family Panel Studies 2010-2020, this study empirically investigates the impact of the household educational burden on family well-being using an Overlapping Generations model.
2026-01-27T00:00:00+00:00Copyright (c) 2026 Best Evidence in Chinese Educationhttps://bonoi.org/index.php/bece/article/view/1697Class Size and Student Mathematics Achievement: An Empirical Study Based on PISA 2022’s East Asian Data2026-01-20T16:05:13+00:00Shifei Duan[email protected]
Class size reduction is a popular move to improve student academic achievement in many countries and territories. Based on the PISA 2022 data, this study compares the distribution characteristics of class sizes between East Asian countries/territories and OECD countries using chi-square tests, examines the relationship between class size and student mathematics achievement in East Asia through OLS regression models, and analyzes the heterogeneous effects of class size among students with varying levels of math performance using quantile regression models.
2026-01-27T00:00:00+00:00Copyright (c) 2026 Best Evidence in Chinese Educationhttps://bonoi.org/index.php/bece/article/view/1698Is Generative Artificial Intelligence Effective in Improving Student Outcomes? Nevertheless, its specific effects on student outcomes remains contentious in academia. This article, using meta-analytical techniques, systematically reviews 39 experimental and quasi-experimental studies (encompassing 60 effect sizes) published before June 2024, aiming to investigate the effect of GenAI use on student outcomes and its moderating factors.
2026-01-27T00:00:00+00:00Copyright (c) 2026 Best Evidence in Chinese Educationhttps://bonoi.org/index.php/bece/article/view/1699The Relationship between Perceived Organizational Support and Turnover Intention in Primary and Secondary Teachers: The Mediating Effect of Career Adaptability and Moderating Effect of Social Capital2026-01-20T16:08:10+00:00Yao Xiao[email protected]
Perceived organizational support plays a central role in career adaptation and professional development of primary and secondary teachers. Empirical research on bullying perpetration among primary and secondary school students is relatively scarce. In effect, the prevention of bullying in schools involves various parties, including perpetrators, victims, and bystanders. It is particularly important to monitor bullying perpetrators to control their offensive behaviors and prevent potential harm to others. Based on large-scale education monitoring data from a province in eastern China, this study aims to analyze the effects of individual competence and interpersonal relationships on bullying perpetration in primary and secondary school students in China using methods of logistic regression, Owen decomposition, and random forests.
2026-01-27T00:00:00+00:00Copyright (c) 2026 Best Evidence in Chinese Education
