Abstract

In order to speed up international cooperation and exchange, the government is encouraging higher education institutions to provide more foreign language courses in addition to English in light of China’s progress in reform and opening up. This study used interview and questionnaire surveys to analyze the current state of German language education as a second foreign language and student learning involvement in it in China. The goal was to understand students’ experiences learning German as a second foreign language. Additionally, suggestions were made to enhance the structure of college German courses for non-German majors.
