Thematic Issue: COVID-19 and Education
Volume 5, Number 2, 2020
Traditional learning models have been disrupted and significant challenges have been created for educators, students, and families as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic's globally significant impact on education. The digital divide among students was exposed by the abrupt transition to remote learning, as many students lacked access to the necessary technology and resources for effective online education. Additionally, school closures have exacerbated preexisting disparities, particularly effecting underprivileged communities that may lack sufficient support systems. Additionally, the absence of in-person interactions with teachers and peers has resulted in social and emotional issues among students, which has influenced their mental health and overall level of well-being.
